The final Rocket Classic is underway here at the Detroit Golf Club as the top PGA Tour golfers from around the world are here taking part in round one. We'll start on hole five. Ben Griffin has a chance at a birdie. He gives it a tap and it would roll and it slowly finds its way in from 17 ft out. He would finish two under. On hole seven, JJ Spawn with a birdie chance of his own. He takes his shot. It looks to be online and it would drop into the cup from 14 feet out. He finished three under. Michael Brennan would get hot in the middle of the round, burying eight straight holes. He would finish the day
five under, tied for sixth place. The best golfer in the afternoon round was Patrick Kentlay on 16. He takes the 19 ft putt. It looks to have the speed and spins its way in for a birdie. He would end the round six under, tied for fourth. Felt like I hit a lot of good shots. Um, hit some that weren't as good. Left myself a lot of really long birdie putts. Uh, had a couple good two putts, had a bad three putt. Um, just kind of way it goes. Felt like it's been a while since I played even though it's been only one week off. It just felt like I don't know. It felt it was hard to get back into a rhythm I felt a little bit, but um, feel good about where my game's at. Just got to keep
plugging along. At the end of round one, Peter Manati is in first, shooting nine under this morning as he takes a two-stroke lead into tomorrow. Reporting Detroit, I'm Cole Mars of WNEMTV 5 Sports.
