my next-door hostel and the bar and like we said we're going to be hunting for local produce local fruits local ingredients to mix with the Iraq and try and make the best and cheapest Iraq delicious Iraq cocktails we can so what are you thinking like what fruit combinations are you going for I'm gonna use one of the most famous Sri Lankan products and that is T so while Ty's is on the hunt for some local Sri Lankan tea Lina is with our new friend and subscriber of the show and ninda they are on the hunt for some local produce to help inspire their attempts of making delicious cocktails hi guys my name is Ananda I'm back I am like the series for stalker of the budget tears essentially
what we're doing is they invited me out because I met up with them again we're gonna be making cocktails it's kind of weird they just Nestle laughing okay yeah I'm gonna pick you up in the morning we're gonna go shopping at the market you gonna pick out a bunch of fruit vegetables whatever the hell you want and we're gonna make a rat cocktails so Rach is the palm tree some kind of alcoholic beverage they make out of foam coconut foam yes coconut right that's what I said and yeah we're gonna have a blast so did you know about the baby ours it's probably a Sri Lankan thing where you have a keen coconut which is the orange coconut here which is a little bit sweeter than the traditional green ones
you get in Southeast Asia and I was on top of Ella's Rock we consider two-hour hike and a lady was like coconut and I'm like yeah you know let's get a coconut so and then she offered me a baby orange she said that if you mix it with the king coconut the fairly it's like an energy drink I can own a chiral energy blast so I don't know if I was that energetic but hey so good felt good Hey I'm going for the passion fruit yeah they did have a passion fruit drink and I'm breaking the story maman should be yet I don't know anything about making you drink thank you so the other day when we were coming down little out of his peak to stop to get some coconuts and I had king coconut with the passion fruit and they blended the passionfruit with the
coconut juice and it was amazing and so I'm just gonna keep it simple and that's what my dreams gonna be so we bought some passion fruit and now we're headed in to look for the king coconut this country is coconuts everywhere like you look everywhere and every kind of seconds you drive down the road there's coconut loves and love the coconut and know we're here has coconuts so second is house look at your paint King coconut we're back at the first shop we came to and actually when we walked by and then this Edwina look there's one stray coconut is lying here in the street it's not even in the fruit selection grown here I think I don't want that one it looks not very nice this is horrible I
shouldn't say this and he said just pick it up and shake it so taking him into the device and I'm fine so with Lina and an indicating their ingredients and tights finding some local teabags for sale - we were almost ready to roll except Thais wanted one last item to help make his cocktail that little bit extra juicy okay for the next ingredient I wanna go for something sweet and something local of course I'm gonna go for a watermelon because me and Patti we've got a bit of history the corner of watermelons and Jenna likely started with us to picking watermelons in Australia they were a lot bigger and these we're not gonna need a lock map nice cocktail I think this is gonna be
able to take it soft and a little bit sweet with almost everything ready we almost forgot the most important ingredient the Iraq itself over the road was a local wine store that sells Iraq and for just $5 we picked up a lovely bottle and made our way back so we could start making some yummy cocktails and so now Paddy's gonna get behind bar and he's just how to make a drink and then we're all gonna experiment and make our own I've worked in bars and restaurants during my studies and so the skills that I picked up there were really useful as I've been able to work all around the world as a bartender to help fund my travels so the first thing I did was show the guys how to make three simple cocktails using a rack and pretty much the same based
ingredients of lime sugar and ice first I made them an Iraq mojito which is perfectly balanced with lime sugar and fresh mint we bought from the local market then I made them an Iraq sour this cocktail has lime and sugar once more except this time it's shaken with egg white to help create a creamy texture and finally I made them a classic daiquiri shaken with ice and served straight up these three simple drinks using a rack should hopefully teach the guys the basics of cocktail making so that they can make the best drinks possible nice thought it was not going to taste great okay and then what's the vibe on the Iraq Mejia good so let's see how they get on I don't know what I'm doing I'm off word is writing this out I'm gonna make a
passion fruit like it is I'm gonna do quite a big shot oh I think I'm drunk on a string okay then I'm gonna mix in some lime juice just a little bit cuz I want the main ingredients to be the passion fruit and then the coconut water so I'm gonna put in 25 when I put into full passion Foods it's not coming out as easily as I hope oh no did you like this I wash my hands oh this is disastrous so now I've put all of my anything in here and now we're gonna blend it I'm gonna taste it there's another person yeah tell us I didn't believe in this was it too sour yeah well done that was your first of a cocktail high-five maracuya is what passion fruit is called in Spanish yeah means yes John Merrick William Lena on a lovely sunny Sri Lankan day nice deeper flavor don't
beat yourself up and we've got plenty left thank you guys are two nights pretty bad it's a sweet hi guys so after Lena's drink and a DS professional trains violet version of the drinking I'm choosing Orbeez citrusy theme we're doing some orange juice tortoise and land-use and obviously busy old Iraq topped off with some there's about thirty milliliters of these please drive freshly sweet maybe a little bit let's do sir see you guys I don't bartend I just drink beer the reason for it Patty's trig tilt on glass there you go fully didn't do it right before
for that much of a command hi personally I'm a big fan of some carbon dioxide's gonna top it off with some club soda Thank You coca-cola for ruining my life and to top it off with some garden was it cold I would call it the sytrus this is a big ugly whole team bangle that develops in his pocket liam is excited so in honor of my country Bangladesh even though I sound Canadian we're gonna call it the sytrus Wow looks like a sparkling champagne oh you've outdone yourself yeah that's so well-balanced the coconut rum and freshly squeezed orange juice you can drink that all day do you like to thank you this hoes there's nothing dangerous okay for the final cocktail of the day I'm gonna reinvent one of the most famous pop
kills and firstly one of my favorites it's the Long Island iced tea and I'm gonna make it extra length we're gonna start really good we're gonna start off with a double shot to replace the other form experience a novel a double-shot is actually just 50 now but if you wanted a double-double it's a hundred mill let's go for double doubles we kind of boiled our tea it's not cool down the Shi since our very special watermelon let this it's a nice place fresh mint that we bought in the markets we've got to add some big piece of watermelon because I'd like to eat one a big like this as our strong at least ER and what's it called it's called the lank Island iced tea this is so like spirit I have no idea this is gonna take
spits our little sugar but I really like tea this long yep what are they that'll get me drunk oh yeah I really like what you did with the pudding Sri Lankan tea and Sri Lankan watermelon with sure I can drum and I really like the fact that you put 100 mils of rum in it how we do it I say well one or two is easy be unconscious refreshing but maybe one too many chances ah depends what your mood is that night getting rosy tears we hope you enjoyed that episode of bite size it's always good fun to get to know a culture and a country especially through its local beers there all right yeah let us know in the comments what drinks you would have liked to try and what you think looks good we definitely had fun making them and we hope yeah you got to know Sri
Lanka a little bit better by all the local products that we use like coconut Iraq the watermelon and the tea we might not be the best bartenders out there but hey when you're drinking with friends and having a really good time in this beautiful weather in this beautiful country it's always fun right you can't complain and don't forget you're making sure to subscribe through the budgeting I got my cheese guys thanks very much
