Well, welcome back to another Friday evening gathering. I'm News Now sports anchor Shane Forom, and we've got a lot of high school football drama for you tonight. We start with our game of the week in the Eastern District. "Mori" takes on "Booker T" in a crucial match. Head coach Dar McCain is facing off against his former defensive coordinator from last year and current Bookers head coach Mike Privet. And it was clear that this was a personal matter. We said it would be a personal confrontation, and it felt that way, considering how these guys were talking to each other the entire game. The Bookers start confidently, forcing their opponent to make mistakes in the

red zone. First offense, but they get the ball back and this time they get to the end zone. Taan Branch makes a 19- yard run look easy, scoring a touchdown. " Mori" ahead. The Bookers try to respond, but lose the ball in the envelope, and the Morey covers it. Zion Mullen makes an interception. Now they march into the red zone, and Kamir Krum scores a touchdown on a jet sweep, making it a Morey continue to pile on the pressure. Second quarter, they run the same combination the other way on Juan Pera, and the sophomore turns on the speed, bursting in for a 70- yard touchdown.

He breaks down at least three tackles on his way to the end zone. The Seas are ahead 18-0. This was pretty much the final nail in the coffin for the first half of the game. You knew we would mention his name at some point. Matt Williams, a future Vandy player, fakes a pass in a wildcat formation. He is just an incredible athlete. He calmly runs to the touchdown. "Mori" crushes "Booker T" 58-0. But Patty G, you were at the coast today. What do you have, Shane? You had great games. But I have to say, I think I've outdone you, because this game is just incredible. This is one of those games that makes you fall in love with football all over again. There were great moments, controversies and just real football fun. Cox hosts Salem.

Let's move on to the beginning of the third quarter. Salem is ahead 12-10. And that does n't sit well with Tariq Jeff at all. And the last thing you want to do is make this guy angry. Boom. He gets space for a 15- yard touchdown. Cox now leads 18-12. But "Salem" responds. Landon Curls prepares a long pass in search of Jayden Javier. And Kai Rayard says: "Give me that ball." Cox has the ball. They are trying to increase the lead with a field goal. And Salem blocks him. Hayden Javier bypasses all the defenders and runs to the end. But Shane, I'll tell you what you can't hear here: the referee blew the whistle before the game was over. They are at the 15-yard line. Salem is dissatisfied.

The question is, will they be able to respond? Landon Karl finds Reginald Wilson here. He sets up for a pass and finds Reginald Wilson for a 52-yard touchdown. Salem now leads 20:18. One minute to go. 28 yards separate Cox from the lead. Braden Herren finds J.D. Graham. And Shane, this guy has character. He's in the zone, the score is 24:20. Cox and Salem now have their last chance. Will they try to repeat their magic like before? But Shannon Mitchell Jr. isn't going to let that happen. Cox wins 24:20. Now we move on to Lanstown, where they host Green Run. We spoke with Lanstown quarterback Anthony Turner in August, and he said he had been waiting for this game for months.

Let's see how it all begins. The first drive, Turner, under pressure, tries to create something with his feet and throws the ball towards Green Run. Case Dawkins is on the alert and makes an interception. This creates a short field for the Stallions. First and four. And Terrence Ely Jr. scores a touchdown. 7:0 in favor of Green Run after Lanstown's punt. Green Run is back in the scoring zone. Marquez Banks outscores the opposition and gives them a two- possession lead in the first quarter. But it does n't end there, because Terrence Ely Jr. wants more. He fights to get back into the scoring zone. It's hard to see, but the judges say he did sneak in at the end of this episode. Green Run 40, Lanstown 13 in this game.

Shane, Patti G, I tried to tell them there was a lot of drama in store for them today, but I don't think they listened to me. Back in the Eastern District, Lake Taylor vs. Icey Norm in Churchland, it was a real thriller. Lake Taylor led 21:28 after the first half, but Icey Norm turned on the second pass. Mario Mills sets the tone early in the second half. The Titans led 27:20 before Icey Norm tied the score right there. DeAndre Atkins on the tunnel chest. He runs to the finish line without any obstacles. The Titans take the lead again in the fourth quarter.

Kevin Adams passes the ball to Peyton Maddox, who breaks through the defense and scores a touchdown. They take a 35-27 lead after a two-point conversion. "Icy Norm," 9 seconds left in the fourth quarter. They refuse to give up. Amorey is injured. He makes a great pass to DeMarcus Edwards. That's the touchdown you just saw. And this is a two-point implementation. Edwards in Wildcat takes the game on himself. They take the game into overtime. And then they pull out a 42-41 overtime victory. Now about the results in the region, even more drama. Hampton falls to Denbigh 33-24. Oscar Smith defeated his opponent 35-0. Smithfield barely pulled out a 13-10 victory.

Nun River also narrowly defeated Great Bridge 14-13. Lafayette destroyed Grafton 41-6. Brutin defeats Gloucester 34-28. And Kosen blanked Jamestown 56-0. Bayside crushed Chamville 47-7. Ocean Lakes defeats First Colonial 41-6. And Tallwood defeated Princess Anne 42-22. Now we move on to the Southeast District for the second part of the show, although the fate of the game was decided in the first half. Indian River hosts Western Branch. The Braves simply demolished them. DeMarcus Robinson at the defensive end position breaks through a double block and makes a save. The Braves force Western Branch to punt the ball, and it leads to a touchdown. Malik Karu

passes to Dravon Speedy for a touchdown. Indian River easily wins 62-0. Patty G, wow, Shane, 62 points, but it was similar for their division rivals in Kings Fork, who had a very similar day. The Bulldogs host Grassfield. Let's start with the first quarter. Let's start with one of the best moments of the day. Miles Satchel finds his receiver one-on- one and says, "Make a play." And Anthony Henderson replies: "I will." Catches the ball by clinging to the line with his fingers. The Bulldogs quickly take a 7-0 lead. But Shane, you knew you'd hear this guy's name soon. Zion Green receives the ball. And you won't catch up with him in the open He scores a 35- yard touchdown. 14-0.

Second quarter. Grassfield loses the ball on downs. They did it once. Why not do it again? Anthony Henderson in the corner. This bond between him and Satchel is just special. Kings Fork 57, Grassfield 7. Shane, look at There is no score from the Churchland and Norview matches. Granby defeats Manor 6-0. Warwick crushes Menchville 67-0. Lakeland defeats Deep Creek 12-6. Highland Springs defeats Phibas 57-7. NS and Suffolk defeat Christ Church 44-21. Norfolk Academy loses to St. Anne's-Bellefield 4:42. The result of the Atlantic Shores match is still unknown.
