Always Drama When I Have To Leave! | Transcript:

What's up everybody? I'm glad to see you are all out there and thanks for the support. Uh man, one of the toughest things I've got to do, most stressful things I've got to do is when I have to leave the camp. Always stressing out. We got a bike race this weekend. I'm going to be gone only for one night. But leaving even for one day really gets me nervous because there's just so many moving parts to this place. So, what I like to do is I like to do a little walk around and check and make sure everyone's good. Look at here are all the uh cherryhead tortoises up in Adam this morning just doing their thing. Now, the good news is I've got Sophia and Sophia has really grown

into uh becoming such a big help around here. Of [snorts] course, there's Rocky and then Pebbles is up on the platform over there. And then over here, we've got Lola in our house. And then it looks like, oh wow, this is kind of cool. Check this out. This is why I like to walk around because you get to see interesting things before you leave. Uh but yeah, Sophia has really grown into being a big help. She knows the animals. She's very comfortable around most of them. Uh she's even getting more and more comfortable. Hey girl. She's getting more and more comfortable with um

Slinky, which is awesome. Um so that's good news. And then look at this. This is what I saw from in there. Look at the mountain tortoise hanging out [clears throat] on a mountain. Isn't that cool? But this is exactly the kind of thing that I like to check out because what if you flipped over? We don't want that. So, let's put them down. But it is cool to see them kind of climbing over rocks. The mountain tortoises are really good at that. So, we've got the one. Then, let's see inside here. I'm sure it's dirty in here. When I get home, we're going to have to

clean it. Oh, yeah. I got to look at this nightmare. See, again, that's why I'm here getting things dialed. Now, luckily, we don't have to worry about any of the heat at the moment, but we don't want these guys getting caught up in this. I got to do a much better job of this place. Yeah, we got to get on that. I got to do that before I leave. There's Lola. Um, they actually pull the wires down. I actually had them uh secured. They pull them down. Hello. There you go. Excuse me. Pardon me. Don't bite me. Hey, there's Leo. Cool. Leo's back

from cruising around, hanging out with his buddy. What's up, dude? What's up? Hey, man. Uh, I'm just doing a little walk around before I leave. I know you and your sister are good at keeping an eye on everything, so thanks. All right, man. Let's go this way and see what's happening. See what's up with our lady Marge plus McCayan. All right, there's there's our boy Lucifer. Hey Louie, looking good. Let's wander over here. There are the Amazon river turtles. We got one of the Salvini Mexican must. And then, believe it or not, I don't know if you guys can see her with the glare, but there's Marge.

She's relaxing this morning, which is good. She's actually just right there. Come on, Marge. There's her little nose poking out, but you can't. There she is. She'll see me and then come over. Here she comes. Hey, Marge. Yeah, there you are. Get over here and say hello to everybody before we leave. Oo, a little slow this morning, huh? Still a little cool from the evening. What a gal. All right, Marge. I like it when you're in combos, cuz Lord knows she's never really calm. Anyway, let's keep going, shall we? We shall wander up here.

All right, black throats are good. Checked them earlier. The smooth fronts. The temperatures are getting warm, so they're spending more and more time out of the water and in the cave. However, as we'll see, Sunny is not in the cave, and he's coming over looking for some food. Hey, buddy. I know. No food today. You already ate, silly guy. Ah, what a guy. Look at that curly tail. Be careful, curly tail. You don't want to get eaten. And then I don't know where the female is. Is she in the cave? Oh, yes. It looks like she's in the cave. She's on the other side.

There you are. There's our lady share. I love how this is all grown up. Eh, this is looking good. I sounded Canadian there for a second. Hey, but uh yeah, we got the ferns growing. Place is looking awesome. Finally got some weather coming back in as far as water from the air, which is also known as rain, precipitation. It's necessary. keeping things full. Of course, plants are coming back to life. You can see some of these copper leaves are coming back. Uh there's our traveler's palm unfurling new furons, as it were. Let's see. Hey, Slinky, are you up? Slinky, you awake?

We got to check on Slinky every day cuz we know Slinkie is an old man. And I just Oh, man. One of these days I'm probably going to walk in here and uh Slinky might not be alive. And that scares the hell out of me cuz I love him. Slinky, there's his tail. There he is. Slinky, I got to go, Papa. I got to go, buddy. Come on out. I got to go. I want to say goodbye to you. I'll see you tomorrow. We got a 50 mile endurance race Sunday. And um I'm all ready for it. rested up, trained up, fed up, meaning food-wise. Hydrated. We've been doing good lately. Let's see if we can keep this momentum

going. I got a nice second place finish at a cross country race last week. Slinky, get over here. Slinky. Hey, Slinky, come on. Come on. All right, we'll peek in. We ain't got time for this. We got to get on the road. Oh, hi. Were you just about to come out? Well, get your butt moving, dude. Holy smokes. Hey, look over there. There's croc monitors getting some of this beautiful sunshine. There they are. There is Chase and Lulu in the morning sun. It's just hitting their branch so they can Oh, what a

big yawn you have there. My goodness. Wow. All right. Slinky's good. Croc monitors are good. Enclosure [clears throat] looks good. These tortoises seem to be towardling. We've got turtles, tortoises. Everything [clears throat] seems to be operational. I like to make sure pumps are flowing. We don't want any stagnation of the water. Uh we definitely just want things to be running good. Here's Inky getting her sun on. See how she likes to spread out and [clears throat] catch the sun up on the wire here in the morning because that's where the sun's hitting.

Hi, girl. Hey, girl. She's pretty. Yeah. Oh, did I? You're so shy. Stop being such a shy girl. Okay. I'm not here to bother you. I just like showing you off cuz you're so cute. Yes, you are. Oh, all right. Well, let's leave her alone. She's temperamental. Some Sometimes monitors are just a little temperamental. They're a little bit shy. Look at this tiny toads. I've got tons of these toads. Little tiny cane toads. See that? Look at them all. We got toads everywhere. Little toads everywhere. You got to careful where you're stepping because the toads are to look at these little toads, man. That's nuts, right? Look at that.

Holy smokes. That's cool. So, I'm careful where I'm stepping here. Look, toads. Little toads. Even though they're cane toads, I don't want to be like Godzilla. just squashing everybody. That's kind of rude. So, I watch where I step. What can I say? I'm a sensitive guy. Uh, well, looks like the alligators are okay. Hey guys, are you sunbathing? Yeah, they're up over there. All right, they're good. Let's go see. Let's go this way. Here are red foots. Everything looks normal in their enclosure. Sofh, like I said,

is going to be feeding here later on today, allowing me to get out here on time this morning. And oh, look at Bella. Whoa, Bella, you're so pretty. Oh my god. Hey, girl. Hey, Belle. Hey, Belle. Bell. There's a pretty girl. Look at that gorgeous snake. Huh? Oh my gosh. That's awesome. She's just kind of stretching out. I love to see her stretching out. That's so awesome, man. Love the morning sun here on the recreation pond. Beautiful jungle-like experience. We've got our turtles. There is our that right there, that big girl going down. That's our female

that's having a hard time submerging, but she's getting better and better every day. her little butts in the air. So hopefully she figures it out. But it is getting better and that's all I care about. So we're moving in the right direction with her. Everyone's good up here. Kate and the kids are going to be home. We're doing our work. Uh oh, we got blue heron. But I don't mind the herand being in here. You may fish in here, heron. You just may not fish in the recreation pond. Big pterodactyl. Great blue heron right there. And then we got our L47. I've been

doing the trenching. We're sinking post. We're going to have our fence finished next week. So, a nice diameter um of the fence, keeping things close, and uh the pond's filling up beautifully. So, we'll be able to keep the turtles of the pond closer, which means I'll be able to, you know, have better um better access to the eggs. They're going to be more concentrated, so we won't necessarily be losing as many of those eggs, which I think is important. Uh, sulcatus. Here they are. I still need to clean. Hey, Lumps. Hey, Lumpy. Hey, guy. It's a big Lumpy.

He's doing well. No one's bothering Lumpy. We got water over here. We've cleared all this out. I'm going to have to remove all these fronds eventually. Hey, buddy. Come here. Hey, man. There he is. That's my guy. You're not alone anymore. There's Hercules and the girls. So, we've got all our sculcatas together. I still like they've been kind of tearing this up. All the fronds, but I'll get to it. There's not enough time in a day. Just not enough time in a day. All right, we got to check the front ponds. Make sure those pumps are going well. Let's see it.

Radiators. I call them radiators, but they're the radiated tortoises hiding out. Morning time, this is the time they'll wander around while it's not too hot. They'll warm up. They'll wander around the front yard. We've got our pond turtles doing good here. We've got some Ocadia sinencis that we got recently. There's a big sunbathing Indian spotted. There's our fly river turtle. We've got little Japanese woods uh Japanese Reeves turtles. We've got a subligosa about to jump off and go ahead. So that's a pink belly sideneck. Okay, good stuff.

Look at this beautiful canal. Nice canalies are blooming. Woo. More Indian spotted. Japanese woods. Yeah, everyone's looking good here. All right, pumps are flowing. Let's go see our big kits. The big kids, where are you guys? Aha, here we go. Nostradamus and friends. Nice clean water comes on every day. This is looking good. Hey, what's up, Boba? There's Cersei. There's Timmy. There's our friend Nostradamus. I'm sure Aphina and Puck are over in Yep. There's Puck over in the giant tortoise forest. And then

where's Apheni? Where's my Aphina? Hey, careful there, buddy. Oh, you raising up. Do you want daddy to give you scratches? Yes, you do. Oh my god. I love you. I hate leaving you. You're the greatest. Raise up. That's a boy. Look at this. My crowning achievement. Raising Nostradamus from a tiny hatchling to this big, beautiful tortoise. And he's not even done growing. And Cersei, you're looking good, too, sweetheart. Everybody's looking good. Timmy and Boba. Oh, there's Aphina. Come on out here, girl. She's actually getting a lot more friendly.

Fina, come on. Come on, little one. She's not so little. Come on there, girl. Get over here. You big beauty. You Oh, I know. Don't be shy. Let me just peek in and see who else is in there. Oh, there's Buddy or Hank. Yep, there's Buddy back there. And there's Hank. All right. So, wow. We've seen Puck. We've seen everybody. They were all good. Let's go see Phantom and Socrates. Ah, there's Socks. Hey, Socks. I'm right here. We still have to contend with this catastrophe of having been on fire. Here is Socrates. And then over here is Phantom sunbathing. Hi, Phantom.

There he is. Oh, yeah. That's a good boy. That's my Phantom. The Phantom [snorts] Menace. The Phantom Menace. He's got slimy face. Let's see. He's drooling. Hi, Phantom. You good? This is what I got to do. He's raising up. Come here. Tickle. All right. H. Very nice. Got himself into something. And he looks like he's been eating something. Keep an eye on that when I get home tomorrow. Just make sure he's okay. He looks okay. But I just get nervous when I see slimy faces. But I think it's something he was eating. Just make sure there's no

All right, buddy. Tell you what, one of the best ways to ensure things are okay is to get a cactus. It's possible that's what he got into. But let's get a cactus and offer him some food. Sometimes you can get respiratory problems months after the cold weather. So, let's just see. One of the best ways to tell if he's okay is to offer him something to eat. So, this is important. Hey there, boy. Hey there, guy. Look. What do you got? What do we got? I don't want Socrates to come over and eat it. Come on. Oh, you're being shy, Phantom.

Being shy. Ah, there was always something, guys. He may need a trip to Dr. Mike being a little too shy for me. Sometimes you just break it and let him smell it. Of course, here comes Socrates. Maybe if we feed her, it'll get him. Look at this. What are you doing? You're going to get yourself stuck. This is what's good about giving these hulcops space and furniture and things to interact with. You know, they have to struggle

just like they would do in the wild. And that enables them to work hard. See that? Let's see. Yeah. Well, I'm going to have to get him to Dr. Mike Pronto. We're going to get him a checkup. Just make sure he's okay. All right. Always something with my animals. Always something with my guys. He's being shy when normally he lets me scratch him. So this is the first I'm seeing of any problem. So [groaning] come here.

This is why having these animals can be stressful. All right, I'm going to have Sofh offer him food later. See what happens. But I'm going to call Dr. Mike after this and we're going to have to bring him to him. Very important. All right, moving along here. We're checking over on Freda's pond. Make sure things are looking good. There you go. There's Freda. There's Fly River. Nothing looks weird or out of place. Everyone's active and moving. So, this is it. All right, box turtles. We did it. We checked on everyone. Everything

is looking good. But I'm a little concerned about Phantom. So, we'll have to bring him to Dr. mic and run some tests and make sure our phantom is actually okay. Very important to make sure your animals are all right and to if you notice something strange right away, got to jump on it. So, that's what we do here at the camp. Always looking in to keeping guys healthy and happy. I am going to contact you guys or contact Dr. Mike and we'll talk to you guys again real soon. Got to get ready to go and I'll be back tomorrow. All right, everyone.

I'll see you soon. Thanks so much for watching and for the support. Talk to you soon.
