three firstr draft picks 2014 2016 and 18 to the Boston Celtics and the Celtics will also have the right to trade first round picks with the Brooklyn Nets in 2017 if the Nets have the higher pick the trade comes with a heavy cost for the Brooklyn Nets they face a luxury tax bill of nearly $80 million but we all know that K proov really doesn't care about the $80 million he's going to be paying because he's a billionaire um their payroll will be close to $100 million and the trade can't be made official by the NBA until July 10th one big thing about this trade was that Kevin Garnett waved his no trade clause after the Nets agreed to fully guarantee the 12 million owed to him for the 2014
2015 season um prior to the agreement the Nets could have bought out Garnett for six million Garnett was also swayed by the chance to join his close friend Paul Pierce in Brooklyn where they could play for a longtime rival Jason kid as many of you guys know Jason kid is now the head coach for the brookin Nets now this deal has a lot of people thinking that hey the Brooklyn Nets made a bad deal because they're giving away their future for probably a two-year uh NBA title run at best and a lot of people don't believe that the Brooklyn Nets will be able to beat the Miami Heat um a lot of people do however believe that the Brooklyn Nets are the second best team in the Eastern Conference I'm not
totally sure about that right now because hey Danny Granger is going to be coming back from injury he's going to be helping out the Indiana Pacers a bit um Derrick Rose is also coming back from injury and he's going to help out the Chicago plls um but that's kind of crazy to me the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics have made a pretty big deal um basically the Boston Celtics will be giving away Kevin Garnett Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets which uh definitely helps out the Brooklyn Nets right now and the Brooklyn Nets will be giving away basically four first round drafts picks and a lot of expiring contracts and the trade can't be made official by the NBA until July
