All right, so in case you missed it, moms truly are God's angels on earth. We know this, Brooke, right? But we want to spotlight one extra special mom here, Linda Fletcher, because not even the fear of flying was going to stop her from catching her son, Miami Hurricanes running back star Mark Fletcher Jr. play for the U, driving 18,000 miles just last season. Insane. And as the Kane's family does, well, they take care of each other. And now Michael Irvin's Productions is helping her journey throughout the entire season. And look at this, the star herself of that show, Miss Linda, joining us with some nice AC. I know it's hot out there, girl, in Florida. Thank you so much for joining us.
Feels pretty good in here. Well, thank you. I thank you for the invite. I appreciate you very much. Absolutely. So, Miss Linda, the last time I saw you, it feels like a lifetime ago, but it was really just earlier this year at the national championship game. So much has changed since then, and yet so much has stayed the same, right? Like your love and passion for seeing Mark at every single game. Now, you have that beautiful RV to do it in. So, tell us, how did this show idea come about? And who are you taking with you to hopefully help drive and let you sleep a little bit? I wish, but I am the driver. Oh my goodness. But you know what? I am so overwhelmed with gratitude. Um, Michael Irvin, uh, the mayor of Funtown RV found it in
their hearts to bless my family with the RV. They did talk to me and know that I have been traveling all those miles. And I was lucky enough to get a front row seat at a game once. I forget which game it was, but Michael Irvin was walking by and I was like, "Michael, Michael, over here, over here." And so I was like, "I'm Mark Fletcher's mom. How are you?" And he was just so welcoming and so nice. And he says, "Hey, I've been looking to talk to you." And so we kind of got to a round table with some other mama canes. And then after that, you know, I told him I had been traveling all those miles and the only thing that, you know, I just would want more is to do it in an RV. And so he goes,
"Excuse me?" I said, "Yes, I plan on getting me an RV." And he goes, "Miss Linda, I think I can hook you up." And you know, he's partnershipped with the uh mayor of Funtown RV. And so those guys made it happen. Well, Miss London, now we know the who behind the RV, but I got to know, what are you listening to on those drives? Do you have a playlist? Are you a podcast girl? Do you have an audio book? What is playing while you're driving that RV? Well, you know, I do love music, but that's the one thing everybody hates writing me with me. I write in the silence. I don't play music. I don't use
the audio. I ride in the quiet and I just look around at all the sightings, at all the beautiful land. And so, yeah, most people don't like riding with me because I'm a quiet writer. Oh my goodness. How do you stay awake throughout all of that? It's beautiful. I mean, you know, I stay in my thoughts and um I'm just really an adventurous woman. So, I'm usually looking around at everything and every now and again I might feel the urge like when I see the mountains, I'll throw on some Christian music and um jam out a little bit here and there, but we don't listen to music the whole ride. And you know, Duke's Mask Bride, that is an audio book that, you know, I'm like into the fantasy type
thing, but yeah, you know, I give me a good audio book every now and then and listen. Yeah, we'll have to check that one out. Okay, so Miss Linda, the first regular season game trip is going to be to Stanford, right? And then you come back to Hard Rock. That's insane. How do you mentally and physically prepare for a drive like that going to the West Coast and then back home? Well, first of all, I'm going to leave about a week early. Wow. And so, normally it's usually 2 3 days, but with this big RV, this is all going to be new for me and my family. I usually travel with my older son. I have my daughter in the middle, and then
Mark's the baby, but those guys are big people and they're right my right-hand type of people. I have two little grand girls that usually come along. And so mentally, I'm ready to ride today, you know, and let me tell you, it doesn't take much for me to get on the road because, you know, I really am adventurous. But then I think about my little great little son. Mark is so wonderful. And, you know, he's over there across the world in a flight in like a couple of hours and it takes me a couple of days. We made big jokes about that, but you know, I just get on and just go. Yeah, I really do. And you know, last year they were asking me for photos and videos, and I go, you know,
that's crazy. I don't really have photos and videos. I just get in and drive and just take it all in. It's so beautiful out there, guys. Well, for last year's national championship game, you had a quick commute. That was basically a home game for you guys. This year though, the national championship is in Vegas at Allegiance Stadium. I know that you are hoping that you get to make that drive. Why do you think the U is going to be back in the national championship game this year? You know, that is a powerful team of guys. Those guys, you know, we can't really talk about the championship yet.
Mario doesn't like that. We are 1 and0. So we start where our feet are like right now getting ourselves through fall camp. But that is a great group of young men, a great group of athletes. I go to practices. I'll be there tonight and I watch them and I see their skill and I see, you know, just the drive behind. They've got to do it again. And you know, there are a lot of new guys added to the team this year. So we're starting from scratch, ladies. But those men can do it. They can do it. And I'm with them. I'll be there to see it. We love it. Hey, it's all about the you, right? Can you throw it up for us?
Believe it. There you go. Believe it. We love it. Miss Linda, how can everybody watch your show? Well, Fetching Fletchers is going to be aired. It's a YouTube show. So, if you pull Fetching Fletchers up in YouTube right now, you see a little couple little clips where we're preparing ourselves, getting all ready for our doc. series and so yeah, it's um on YouTube. Incredible. Can't wait to see what comes of that. Linda, thank you so much for spending some time with us here on Vive. I appreciate you ladies for having me. Let's go Canes.
