Approaching a heat record this weekend. | Transcript:

Good Tuesday evening. Meteorologist 7 Stewart here. It was a cool day today with that onshore breeze at times. Winds gusting around 30 miles per hour. Only in the 60s along the coastline, low7s inland. But we've got some big changes coming up later this week. A big time warmup. Temperatures in the 90s this weekend, maybe even making a run at a record high on Saturday. But we had that low pressure off the coastline spinning around giving us those northeast winds today. So while we saw a lot of sunshine, we saw the cooler temperatures. But again, we got that warmup coming up this week. So, timing things out here with futurecast through the overnight. Temperatures dropping back into the 40s in some of our inland

spots to around 50°, upper 50s to near 60 at the coastline. So, a little bit of a cool start to the day on Wednesday. We'll still have an onshore breeze, so that'll keep coastal areas a few degrees cooler. We're going mid70s here right along the coast, but low 80s once you move inland with lots of sunshine through the day on Wednesday. Wednesday evening and Wednesday night, nice and clear, not quite as cold. Temperatures in the 50s to around 60°. And we should see readings warming up into the upper 70s to around 80 degrees at the coast on Thursday. Mid80s inland and it just gets warmer from there. 90s into the day on Friday, officially going 93, 96 on Saturday. The record is 97. So, we'll be

close to that. 92 on Sunday. And then late Sunday into Monday, a cold front will approach. That'll give us a chance at some showers. That front might linger in the area for a couple of days early next week. Sort of a stalled pattern and that'll likely give us those chances for showers and keep temperatures down a bit through the middle of next week. But 59 tonight, upper 40s in inland spots, mainly clear and seasonably cool. 75 tomorrow, plenty of sunshine and quite pleasant. And then that warm up 80 on Thursday, 93 Friday, 96 Saturday, 92 Sunday. Again, lots of sunshine through the next five days. And then Sunday night into Monday is when we'll see those chances for showers moving in.

Scattered showers on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures closer to our normal or average high of 81.
